Hi, I am Lilyana

I am a PhD student in Political Science at American University in Washington, DC. My research focuses on American politics, LGBTQ+ politics and public opinion, prejudice reduction and attitude change, political psychology, and political behavior. My current study examines the factors that shape public opinion about transgender people and the circumstances that facilitate attitude change and prejudice reduction. I also explore how LGBTQ+ individuals support their group interests. I can reached via [email protected].

I received my M.A in Political Science from University of California, Riverside in 2022, and B.A in Political Science from Oregon State University in 2020.

Beyond political science, I am also a Music Composer and Classical Guitarist. I frequently draw inspiration from the classical repertoire, film and video game soundtracks. To me, music is a way to express my fears and joys, as well as the ups and downs of my life experiences. Some of my works can be Found Here.

Several of my guitar compositions have been performed at American Guitar Society, Riverside City College, and University of Redlands. I can be reached via [email protected].

A fun fact: The site logo was designed by my partner, Carolyn, who is the muse behind my Second guitar concerto.
